Wrong sitting can damage badly
|
|
| |
During our daily routine we will be sitting
alot. At breakfast, in the car, at the office, at home.
We need to improve our way of sitting at the desk and infront
of a PC.
According to research 80% of managers and directors suffer
pain in the region of the heart, stomach and internal organs.
Those of us starting their career life will try to maintain a basic
level of activity to prevent health hazards. But this will decline
year by year.
Doctors have found that those working in web related
companies and jobs often stress their bodies 3 times faster than
the avarage IT specialist working in other fields.

How to prevent?
But what can we and our employers do to lower the sitting related
ilnesses that lead to employees on sick leave?
Better stools and tables that can be adjusted to the
person. Regular breaks help release the preasure on the spine.
Move away from the desk and have a cup of tea.
You can use a slanted foot stand to releave the spine. |

Laws help?
Governments and bodies such as the EU have tried to set standards
to prevent work related sickness. They have set guidelines
for table height, safety and danger preventions objectives.
The ideal table height is 72cm. Your legs should display an angle
of 90° (+/- 5°)

Eye & Monitor
The monitor should be at a distance of 45-80cm depending
on the size and type of monitor (i.e. flat screen).
You should be slightly looking down onto your monitor.
Do not place a monitor on top of a desktop case!
The angle between keyboard and monitor screen bottom would
be 25°. The angle between the top and bottom of the screen
will be 35° for your view lines.

| |
Keyboard
The distance between the keyboard and the edge of the table
must be 50 to 100mm. Use a wrist pad to relieve the hand.
The keyboard should display an angle of 15° to the
table.
