Book Description
Microsoft's .NET strategy embraces a vision for integrating diverse
elements of computing technology and data services.
The wireless Internet and mobile devices are core components of that
strategy. Visual Studio .NET includes a powerful set of tools--the
Mobile Internet Toolkit--for developing websites and applications
that can be accessed from all kinds of mobile devices .NET Wireless
Programming provides the technical details you need to master to develop
end-to-end wireless solutions based on .NET technology.
You'll learn to take advantage of the Mobile Internet Toolkit's
automated deployment capabilities, which enable a single site or application
to work with nearly any mobile device. Freed from the task of writing
code to accommodate various devices, you'll be able to apply other
skills to build a more powerful application: Work with styles and
templates.
Create custom controls. Read from and write to databases. And use
Microsoft's Web Services in support of a distributed architecture.
Five case studies, including a mobile intranet, a contacts database,
and an online game, illustrate solutions to real problems and techniques
for maximizing application flexibility. A set of appendices provide
detailed information on the WML language and the Toolkit's classes.
This book presents its many code examples in Visual Basic .NET,
but the greater emphasis is on Visual Studio .NET and the flexibility
it gives developers in choosing the language they want to use.

Final Review
This book is the right book to start working with Wireless Application
Protocol
As a fantastic resource you will enter into a new dimension of communication.
At first I had only expected to get to see some stuff about wap and
other silly gadgets. I was wrong.
This is a gripping literature helping an adin to figure out what he
or she might be getting herself into. I can oly say - whoo
But lets get back to the book. It contains advice for users on how
to get an IP address for their mobile device (i.e. mobile phone).
I tried to get my Nokia to work with my little test machine via a
NET system similar to wap. At first I thought I wouldn't get a connection
via my providers Irecell.
Vodafone has been a consistent innovator in the Irish market. It was
the first to introduce WAP technology to Ireland and was also the
first in Europe to introduce prepaid WAP which is expected to lead
to an explosion in the use of the mobile device for eCommerce services.
So after noticing my mistake I found out how to get an IP address
via my mobile. You must use or develop complex algorithms for use
on such devices. The terminology used by Mrk Ridgewy is clear and
easy to take over into one's own little world.
Blue Tooth Technology can be quite an interesting alternative to the
old cable, too. I am quite fascinated by this but I must move on otherwise
my dell latitude will fail on me (battery at 5%). Looking forward
