Final Review
Yes, this book is heavy, larger than a palm organizer, but hold knowledge
worth a lot of money for business drivers.
Take this book and work through it. You will know why it took so
long to review this up to date book.
There is a wide range of SAP related books (in german
or english) on offer via the web or other book shops. Most of them
are lacking in detail that you would soon wanting more data. Unfortunately
some have more resemblence with SAPs online Help.
I took to the detail offered by this book Williams set up. I would
like to briefly list some of the key advantages as I do not have a
lot of space to go into long winded story telling:
- screen shots (very rare in most books)
- menu paths (even rarer), and
- configuration tips
The author often lets us know that this is not just a nice idea he
got but real knowledge derived from experience. Implementations
often hold surprises for you.
As I have been working on several implementations based on Microsoft/SAP,
I am quite sure he knows what he is talking about.
He specifically details where and how to customize SAP SD through
the IMG and master data.
This remarkably clear and concise SAP by book will show you
how to:
- Get an overview of SAP functions and find out where to
access data throughout the system
- Configure and implement the Sales & Distribution
model
- Learn the differences between sales document types and
how they control deliveries and impact other modules
- Understand the basic functions that make up the sales
process, including pricing, output, and credit management
- Create cross-functional reports using the standard SAP
structures
- Prepare for going live and learn system testing methods
Glynn Christopher Williams is currently based in South Africa.
He is a SAP SD consultant, with international experience, having
worked on projects in South America and Europe.
He has had the opportunity of working on implementations within some
of the worlds largest companies, the most recent implementing
SAP across 12 countries in Europe. His extensive experience
and knowledge of the SD module allows the sharing of fantastic time
saving tips, as well as easy to understand assistance in implementing
SAP Sales and Distribution.
