Final Review
It is time to think about Oracle's 9i database version. I have been
working a lot with 8i and passed through each update from 7.0 to 8i
R3.
At some times I have missed having gone to one of those oracle courses.
I had to learn it by books and by the hard way.
Sweating over bugs and errors makes you understand the product
in a way that you get it printed into your brain.
don't do this ...
remember to ... before you ...
I know one thing and that is for true: Oracle is mighty and
must be taken with care. Therefore this book is helping me upgrade
and expand my knowledge about oracle.
Some times I have the feeling of loosing my road map. Maybe
I am too busy planing my relocation of a 8i db instead of an upgrade
to 9i. As 2% of my work is with MySQL and MS SQL2000 I am keen
to get more fundamental knowledge.
I am not going to take the exam due to lack of time but I have
learned to understand 9i and know why I prefer it to the previous
version.
If you want to pass the exam then this book and the other books for
9i certification are worth getting.
