The Bavarian state is one of the richest stated in Germany. Their industrial success is built on the move of my companies out of the soviet occupied sectors. Today, many east-Germans have found a new career and a new home in Bavaria. This migration has allowed Bavaria to grow and gain further multicultural status. The advantages can be seen by the political and social colorful life in the heart of this state. Munich is one of the largest south German cities. It is often referred to as the German Venice or Monaco. It is definitely a wonderful city to live. The high technology companies have a base here. Amongst these are Microsoft, Siemens, Oracle, BMW, Knorr-Bremse, Linde and other well-known global players. The mid-sized companies here often rank among the most liked and preferred employers. Their positive attitude towards technology, education and international thinking is what makes Bavaria such a successful place to do business. All mayor airlines fly to Munich. Many rich Arabs come here for holiday or medical treatment. The political environment is even more competitive. The long unrivaled CSU was able to keep their hold on the Bavarian Parliament for many decades. Now they need to share [...]

No, it is not a bunch of sailing pirates that try to get into European parliaments. They are not blood hungry sun burned adventurers but young and ambitious politicians with a true belief. Are they going to succeed? Well, they seem to be making a hell of a racket when it comes to pushing into county parliaments. They access to the German national parliament will succeed. They ideas and beliefs catch the feelings of many discouraged young people. The established politicians are losing their followers. In particular the smaller parties are losing their rebellious character. Politicians in the green area have become used to the game play in Berlin. They are winning their course. Germany had shut down many atom power stations. But the leading parties are using backhanded methods to weaken the game changers in the solar industry. Shall European solar companies loose to the cheap Chinese competition? China provides its local companies huge subsidies to finance development and market expansion. Europeans lack here the necessary creativity and will. They prefer to discuss until European companies have gone bust. Will the pirates come to the rescue for these companies? If they did, they would definitely become game changers themselves. [...]

Will a better internet access secure competitive advantage for Europe? European politicians try to make us belief that they are doing their best to boost he expansion of DSL and LTE. But as Europe would be, LTE is not a common standard in Europe. Every nation has its own frequencies for LTE. Also, we europeans lack behind the american LTE based gadets. The ipad 3 with LTE is only something Americans can play with. Europeans have again managed to block themselves from innovation. On a local level DSL connectivity is still poor in the large countries. Some o the smaller northern european countries connectivity is better than in any major German city. This is apoor example how national politics lacks behind reality. It is time to call is a loss for Europe. LTE is so split up that there will never be a chip developed that can cope with all the different frequencies used in Europe.

IT security is a growing concern for German companies as their legal exposure to huge fines increase when they do not take adequate precausions against the dangers of malfunctioning hardware or data loss. In the German book “IT-Sicherheitsmanagement” — written by Heinrich Kersten, Jürgen Reuter and Klaus-Werner Schröder — They show how to build up a ISO27001 related documentation. This book highlights the step by step process of understanding the dangers a company is exposed in a modern society. The book is published by “Vieweg+Teubner” as ISBN 978-3-8348-1599-6 in the German language. The publisher is Peter Hohl. In order to improve a company’s performance, it is necessary to understand what it is doing well and where it is failing. Mr. Reichheld brings it to the point. Focus on the experience and satisfaction of a client, not on tons of meaningless questions. Getting it right all along the way is a task which needs good preparation and guidance. This book opens the way into making the most out of client satisfaction feedbacks. Turning dissatisfied clients into promoters is a challenge but understanding how to gradually improve and measure the effectiveness of your activities is the key to success. How to introduce NPS into an organization and make it a key part of continued performance improvement is where this book opens you an important door.
Have you acquired a new iphone 4 or a blackberry torch? Wonderful mobile phones. You should get yourself one, but be ware of a potential shock. Do not underestimate the traffic cost of new smart phones. Recently, I had the opportunity to replace my old blackberry pearl phone with a fantastic blackberry torch phone. I started adding apps and fooling around with the webservice. Then it was time to attach my phone to our company’s BES service. Syncronizing my emails, contacts and diary was great. Then the shock came. An amount of 35MB was used within the first 10 days of having received this new phone. This meant a 127 Euro bill for having indulged in the enjoyment of exploring the new mobility of a smart phone. Then I found out, I had used an additional traffic volume which would amounted to a 2nd phone bill of 60+ €. Hence, I used in 15 Days nearly 200 € worth of data services. So keep an eye on your service plan. Some plans only include 1 MB. So this should alert you to move on to a flat rate or greater volume, as 1MB will never be sufficient to protect you from a shocking phone bill.

The RFE conference in Munich was a great success. Many former RFE employees joined the conference to share their expereince. RFE had its 60th Birthday last week. Today RFE/RL is transmitting uncensored and neutral news to many countries in the east european region and asia. This makes it one of the oldest non profit radio services around the world. Many former RFE employees went to their mother contries to build up a free and truthful radio service after the soviet power house fell apart. Today, we owe a lot to those who kept on working day and night. Sometimes they did not know how many people were actually able to listen to their broadcast. But with the growing economic decay, radio blocking services were dismantled. This let RFE’s broadcasts reach its’ listeners in an undisturbed way.
