Electronic espionage is to be fought

For quite a long time many governments were of the opinion that by forbidding encryption they would have access to all data in the net. But at the same time they made their own economies a prime target for spies of the modern age.

As a very wrong step in past this old anti-encryption idea being scrapped and a strong campaign for using encryption is rolling. But the main problem for many states is that they do not have a industry capable of delivering high encryption keys. Till everybody has moved toward securing their data there will be many jobs and profits lost due to a wrong security policy.

Until now many secret services gathered information on business and private email transmissions in other countries. Some secret services even work with national companies to help them win against another bidding company.

Therefore many EU member states have accepted the need of encryption keys and are funding even local development of these technologies.
