Royalties for Audio and Video are spreading |
|
| |
Who ever wants to run a homepage or a big website with
music and video content will find himself in the battle field of the
regional organisations collecting royalties. In Germany the GEMA and in
the UK the PRS are collecting fees for such contents. The Performing
Rights Society (PRS) Licenses for Audio begin at 300 Euro and can
reach large summs for "virtual" radio stations (i.e. 1500 Euro). Only
those who make their own content can avoid those fees. Some provider
offer support for steaming leaving the customer unaware of the possible fees.
Be aware of possible bills rolling down the hill to crush
you! |
